Windows Media files (.WMV) require Windows Media Player, usually pre-installed with Windows.  This format will stream the video immediately, without downloading the file first.

Quicktime movies (.MOV) require Apple's free quicktime player, available for both Mac's and Windows.  The entire movie downloads first - Click "play" button to start the show.
